Hi Resolution 2022

It is that amazing time of year where Resolutioners from all around the world get to partake in the ultimate combination of work and play at our annual off-site, Hi Resolution! This year we packed our bags and medieval themed costumes to head off to a magical castle in the humble Swedish town of Vadstena.

We started our adventure with a train ride from Stockholm to our dreamy location where upon arrival we had to stand in awe of the mighty architecture and history standing right in front of us. We cannot forget to mention the awesome and smiley staff who welcomed us all with open arms and took wonderful care of us over the two days we spent there. Day one started with a presentation from our CEO Tommy Palm who spoke about all that we have achieved the past year, our massive growth and what goals we have moving forward.

After Tommy left the stage we got to hear about all the workshops we could take part in during the day run by our very own Resolutioners. The topics spread from ‘accessibility in games’, ‘the tinyverse’, ‘what makes a game character interesting’ and many, many more. A big thank you again to all our wonderful facilitators who created a fantastic learning environment where we all got to share our thoughts and ideas. Oh and just like last year we held a tournament for one of our new exciting projects that we cannot talk about just yet.

After a long day of teaching, learning and playing we ended the first day by kicking back and having a tasty three-course meal in our finest medieval outfits. The dance floor was riddled with everything from dashing jesters to knights in shining armor.

Day two consisted of activities that many Resolutioners were looking forward to the most. First we participated in a Q&A session with Wren Brier and Tim Dawson, the brilliant designers of the wildly popular game Unpacking, the multi-award winning ‘’coziest game of 2021’’.

Afterwards we brought to the stage artist extraordinaire Simon Stålenhag, known for his wondrous alternate-contemporary landscapes atmospherically infused with hulking mech structures from another time and space.

We wrapped up day two with a panel Q&A with our management team and more play sessions so our dev teams could collect feedback on upcoming projects.

After that it was time to start our journey home. These two days were a great way for us all to learn from each other, to get to know each other a bit more and to see (IRL) all of our American Resolutioners and new team members from the Linköping office. It’s amazing to see how the Resolution spirit keeps growing as we expand our team with talented individuals who will help us continue to propel the VR and AR games industry forward.
